Hey...
It has been 6 months since I last wrote a blog post and honestly that was not part of the plan. In fact if you asked me in January where you thought I would be in September, I would not have given you the answer that I am about to give you.
It's been a lot in both the best and worst ways.
But the biggest change of all? I left my full time cafe management job to pursue being an artist!
Grab a cuppa and let me fill you in on how that all happened.

So where have I been?
The short answer: living my life.
The long answer is: working, running, selling at markets, seeing friends and family, making a decision about where I was going next and trying to tick off a never ending to do list basically. Somewhere along the way this blog just fell off the bottom of the list.
And I am so okay with that!
I have always let work - whether it was my cafe job or this business - take up so much of my life. Even if I wasn't physically there, I was thinking about work, recovering from a busy shift, planning things, just feeling guilty for not being productive.
But I realised that I didn't want to do that anymore. I wanted to find joy in my life again and not let work dictate everything. So I left my job, have taken a new job that will hopefully be a lot more chill and now I am trying my absolute best to make time to relax. It's a journey but we are getting there.
So now instead of working full time and trying to squeeze Indi Arden into whatever scraps of free time and energy I have left, I finally have the opportunity to see what will happen now I have the time and attention to put into this business.
To be honest I am terrified but also super duper excited at the same time!

What else have I been up to?
Between all this work and business stuff I have actually done some pretty cool things!
I had a painting put up in an exhibition which was a real pinch me moment! Huge thank you to Jessie from Beau Events for giving me that opportunity, I think this makes me a proper artist now?
I have been to Dublin, Belfast and Romania in the last 6 months which I am so grateful for. I love going away and having the time to reset my brain and explore somewhere new. As usual I took so many pictures of things I want to illustrate and I am now on a mission to illustrate as many places as possible to turn into postcards for you guys.
I also attempted to run a marathon... because working full time and running a business wasn't enough work I figured why not throw marathon training in there too. Let's just say it did not go to plan at all but I listened to my body and made the right call to stop. I am looking forward to having the time now to run and not having to squeeze it in to every day.
The most important thing that I have been doing this year as well is actually prioritising spending time with my people. I always have so much to do but I have really been making a conscious effort to step back at times so that I can do fun things with my friends and family and it has been so fabulous and has helped me rest so much.
All in all I have just had a lot of realisations this year about how I want to live my life and what my priorities are and as a result I feel fabulous!
So now I'm back
I haven't given up on this blog, I've just been living my life which seems quite fitting for Indi Arden.
This business is all about finding small moments of creativity in our otherwise manic lives and that is exactly what I have been doing.
This feels like the beginning of a really exciting chapter for me and I am so excited to bring you along for this journey as well.
I want to share the highs and lows, the product launches, the markets and all the behind the scenes stuff that comes along with running a business. Do I know what I am doing? No. But we will find out together.
So thank you for being here, I really appreciate it!
Now lets get back to work.
Indi x
